New York Finger Lakes Excursion Details: Experience the Finger Lakes! 3-day weekend June 12- June 14, 2009 Hosted by: Virginia Wine Adventures $479pp (double occupancy) $100 deposit to book - remainder due by May 10, 2009 Calling all wine lovers! Experience the Finger Lakes with a very exclusive tour to this beautiful and renowned wine region. Day#1 - Friday 6/12 7-8am- pick-up Leesburg, Dulles Town Center Mall, and Brunswick, MD Train Station 6-7 hours of travel in a privately chartered coach to Ithaca, NY. Breakfast items, lunch and snacks will be provided on the bus. 2-3pm Check-Inn at Hotel: Ithaca Homewood Suites by Hilton. 3-8pm Vineyard and Winery Tour followed by Barrel Room Roaming Wine-Pairing Station Dinner at the award winning King Ferry Winery. We will make a stop at the enchanting Falls at Salmon Creek on the way to the winery. There will also be a welcome reception at King Ferry. Day #2 - 6/13/09 10am-6pm "vinifera Varieties: Wines of the Seneca Lake Banana Belt" A spectacular exclusive tour with breathtaking lake vistas and extraordinary wine and food- All led by a Finger Lakes Wine Region Expert Guide. Brief Tour Description: Come discover some of the finest wines in the Finger Lakes. On this tour, you will explore the wineries of the southeast shore of Seneca Lake- a region known as the "Banana Belt", due to its extra-ordinary microclimate. The "terroir" of this region is ideal for growing the famous Vinifera grapes of Europe. The tour includes private vineyard and winery tours, barrel tastings, wine tastings including a sparkling wine series tasting, cheese pairings, and varietal highlights. A picnic lunch will also be provided. We will visit: Standing Stone Vineyards, Lamoreaux Landing, Atwater Vineyards, and Penguin Bay. On the way back to the hotel, we will stop at a chocolate shop and sample hand-crafted chocolates. Dinner on own: Excursion guests will receive a listing of recommended dining establishments from casual to fancy. Day #3 - Sunday 10-11am Natural History and Geological Talk at Ithaca Falls - Optional* "experience one of the regions most beautiful falls located right in downtown Ithaca. Sunday, April 19, 2009 Experience Spring in Leesburg! Join us for a day of garden delights and Leesburg wineries. 9am pick-up WFC Metro Station 10am pick-up Loudoun County Location 10:30am Leesburg Flower and Garden Festival Located throughout Historic Downtown Leesburg This is a beautiful and fun event. Numerous garden and plant vendors line the downtown streets. There is also food, arts/crafts, and live music. The downtown shops and restaurants will also be open to guests. 12:30pm depart the Garden Festival 1pm Zephaniah Farm Vineyard 2:15pm Dry Mill Vineyards and winery 3:30pm Casanel Vineyards 5-6pm Drop Offs $49pp includes: Transportation on all points of the itinerary, Leesburg Flower and Garden Festival Admission Ticket, tasting fees at 3 wineries, waters and snacks on the mini bus, all planning and prep for the day trip. We are open to tweak pick-up locations if there are a number of people coming from one address. There are food vendors and restaurants/delis in historic Leesburg.
